Everyone at Putnam County Speedway always takes the time to thank me
everytime I walk through their gates, so let me return the favor this time. I'd
like to thank them for making me feel so welcome there, and for being extra
friendly in the process. I'm having fun as your announcer, so thanks to the opportunity!
I'd also like to thank the core group of loyal racers and fans who come to
Putnam every Saturday and who are the backbone that supports it. You guys are
the main reason that Putnam is still there, and you will be the foundation that
the new Putnam is being built on.
To the racers who chose to abandon PCS and go elsewhere because the car
count was slack in their division, I have this message. Thank you for
supporting PCS in the past, but remember that support is a continuous process.
The fans could have seen a decent race in that division, maybe with a low car
count but a decent race none the less, and the drivers could have had fun in the
process. Six cars dropped to two, and then two dropped to one as a newcomer
threw up his hands and left in frustration. A chance to build was lost, and the
fans got cheated out of a feature race. That's just the way I see it, and
there's nothing personal involved in it. I'm simply stating my feelings and
trying to make a point.
Fans and racers, come back to Putnam each and every week, and make the
effort to go out into your community and invite others to come with you. Even
if it is one person extra, get them to the track! Tell any and everyone that
will listen that Putnam is on the rise and getting better, and get those folks
to help you make Putnam grow. together everyone has already managed to bring in
more cars and attract more fans, so let's keep up the good work!
