2011 Rule Questions

The new rules for 2011 are almost ready.. Does anyone have any suggestions for rules in there class.. We would like to be able to have cars from Volusia and Ocala to be able to race at the track with not have to spend alot of money having to change alot of stuff around.. Please comment and I will get it back to the track management.. Thank you..

what kind of mod classes are they going to be running i hope the limited mods like lake city

I AM FOR A LIMITED MOD CLASS ALSO.

jUST LIMIT THE MOTORS NOT CHASSIS, TRANNIES OR CLUTCH

I am not sure if they have the track phone on yet.. I only have his cell number and I am not sure if he would want alot of people calling that number yet... Thats why I am gonna try and do what I can with this right now to get some of this going... He has got alot on his hands right now with the way the track and all the buildings were left from the last guy running it..It was left a mess..

i think using Ocalas rules is aa good way to go they allow a few things that volusiia does not. That means more cars can race at ocala then volusia.

what about tires for pure stock dot or racing tires

I THOGHT WHEN I TALKED TO BOB AT OCALA, HE WAS GONNA RUN A CARBON COPY OF THE RULES FROM OCALA? THE LAST THING THE RACERS NEED IS ANOTHER RULE BOOK, IF YA WANTA "LIMITED MOD" CLASS THEN BRING IN THE E-MODS FROM NORTH FLORIDA, DON'T TAKE JUST PART OF THE E-MOD RULES TAKE THEM ALL. FLORIDA RACING DON'T NEED ANOTHER MOD CLASS RIGHT NOW..... AND IF PCS PLAY'S THERE CARDS RIGHT YALL WON'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT VSP, THEY HAVE DONE A GOOD JOB AT PUTTING THEM SELVES OUT!!!!!

I agree with Bud. Go with the Ocala rule book. The only thing I would like to see and so would many others in the thunderstock class is put us on a 8" hoosier at the Right front instead of that stupid 10" or 8" DOT all the way around. Also stick with the letting us gut the hood and trunk lid and cut the trunk floors from the diff back. Ocala lets us get away with it but it doesnt state it in the rules and VSP allows it in their rules. If you go with that then all cars can race at PCS other than the racing tire factor up at NFS. NFS has most of the same rules as Ocala except the 10" RF and they run Hoosiers. Most of us would rather run DOT because they are cheaper and last longer. I'm pretty sure most of the thunderstock guys would agree about the 10" and the gutting but it's JMO

Work with VSP and Ocala book for the most part because they are almost carbon copy minus the hood and trunk deal.......


We just need to know something soon before we all go tearing back into these cars for next year

I believe he is going to be using the same as Ocala.. He wants to work with them from what I heard... Is there that much difference in Ocala and VSP? I have never looked at them that much..

JOHN, MIKE IS CONCIDERING THE R/F DEAL. AND BOB NEEDS TO JUST TAKE THE WHOLE OCALA RULE BOOK AND PRINT IT OUT, AND CALL IT A DONE DEAL... THE ONLY PLACE I SEE A PROBLEM WILL BE OF COARSE THE SPORTMANS IF HE DECIDES TO RUN THEM AND IF HE WANTS TO RUN A E-MOD CLASS. I THINK IF BOB AND MIKE COULD SOMEHOW WORK TOGETHER AND PUT ON GOOD SHOWS, THEY WILL TRULY PUT A HURTIN ON THE OTHER TRACKS. BUT THEN AGAIN WE ARE WHAT A WEEK IN TO THIS AND BOB HAS YET TO MAKE AN OFFICIAL STATMENT ON WHATS GOING ON WITH PCS........MAKES YA WONDER.

Yes I will get with him today and see if he is going to just copy the Ocala rules.. I know he was wanting to talk to mike and hope to work together but he said mike has never returned any of his phone calls.. But we gotta get rules up soon.. They are going to have a race on Jan 22nd ..

Hopefully you're right Bud. I hope Mike does away with the 10" RF and allows the gutted hoods and trunk lids in the rule book. It will make things easier for all of us since 90% of the guys are already gutted and it's too hard to go out and just find more body parts. Also, makes the cars way more manageable when removing the hood and stuff. I guess we'll just have to wait for the man in charge to step to the plate and let us all know what is going on.

Seems like we are all ready to get started.

do we know what the rules for thunder stock are for the the 100 lap race??? or for the 2011 year???

This is for the 100 Lap Special Event Race

From what I was told go by North Florida Pure Stocks rules
Headers Optional
Tires- Street tires 8" wheels optional 10" race tire right front or 8" race tires all 4
No 9" rearends

All other rules are North Florida Pure Stocks

Shawn, the flyer says Volusia rules. Which is the correct set of rules to follow, VSP or NFS. There are differences, not much, but there are some differences.
