| As Fire Rescue team leader, it is my job to save lives & ensure that each & every driver, crew member, official, employee & spectator go home safely each Saturday night. It is not my job to take sides nor is it my place to pass judgement. My duty is to provide a service to all in attendence, regardless of who you are or what you have done. That being said, I will tell you what I observed Saturday night from my point-of-view. I will not give my opinion. It is not my place to stir trouble. John114 wanted the full story from somone who could give it. Here is your answer John. Everything following is purely fact as seen through my eyes. If something has been omitted, it is becasue I did not see it.
After the pure stock class ran, the cars were checked for brakes by the tech guy. The winner of the race, J. Bennet was found to not have an operating right front brake. It was announced over the track radio that the winner was disqualified for that reason. A track officials (whose name I will not give) came over the radio immediately following & demanded that the Shaw family be kept out of the pit & especially the tech shed. Another track offical stated on the radio that if the Shaw family was involved, it wouldn't be good, but that official then stated he was going to keep his mouth shut & his opinions to himself. Realizing we would probably have another riot on our hands, I made my way from my track staging position to the tech shed area. When I got there, the situation seemed to have difussed. The crowd was dispersing & people were packing up to go home. I was sitting in my truck when the next occurence happened, so I wasn't able to hear what was said, but I did witness Sandy Miller, David Miller Sr. (both track officials) & several others (whom are not known to me) start chasing Jumpin Jimmy Shaw. He had his back to them as he was walking back to his pit to pack up & go home. When Jim's brother John saw what was happening, he went to Jim's aide. At this time, I jumped out of my truck to see if I could help break this up before it turned ugly. Unfortuately, I was too late. The first one John got to was David Miller Sr. John bear hugged David & took him to the ground. Once David & John were on the ground, alot of people piled on John. Some were trying to seperate the two men, others were wailing on John. A huge group had formed around the two. I worked my way to the center. John & David had already been seperated. I grabbed John from the two guys that had him & pushed him back to my truck where I told him to stay put while I did my job. I grabbed my med bag & went to look at David Miller Sr. He had a injuries that needed tending. While I was trying to do my job, members of the Miller family yelled & cussed at me & one even put there hands on me. The person who put their hands on me had an infant child strapped to their chest! I did loose my cool with these two individuals & chewed them out with rather stong words. But once they were removed from my immediate area, I was able to provide proper treatment to David Miller Sr. By this time law enforcement was on its way & alot of people were shagging out of there. When was all said & done, I had three patients to care for, Jumpin Jim was served with a trespass warning & the officials were allowed to go home uncensured by management. Tires were slashed on both John's truck & Jumpin Jim's racecar. Motor oil was dumped in Jim's race seat as well. I did get an unsolicited vow from Clarence Smith that the vandal will be brought to justice once he/she is revealed.
Those are the facts as I saw the situation play out that very Saturday 18 July 09 night. I cannot attest to any other events that played out after the track was cleared as I was not present to witness any other goings-on. | |

| That's pretty much the way I heard it too. It all seems like it still could've been solved with out all the violence. The vandalism was wrong and so was the fighting. How does anyone know if Miller was chasing Jim to fight him or to argue with him or whatever the case. A lot of what seems to happen with some people out there seems childish and way too much drama. I just hope the violent part is over atleast. I know that one person on here is suppose to be coming to cause problems on the track from what it seems and that isn't any way to solve anything. | well the fact that he was a danny miller's house sunday before the race and staited that if he touched jack jack's car that he would pull out the 21 car and destroy jumpin jim's car. second before the heat race jack miller, jarred bennit, and daniel baldwin if his car touched any of ther's that they were going to destroy his car. third he was screaming at jimmy as he was chasing him. finally i never seen anyone run to argue with someone. john it doesn't matter give it time and there will be another issue and the trouble making family won't be there. every body around racing for the past few year's know's how it is. ask bobby giles about his trouble last year. see what he say's | |

| I know all about Bobby Giles, I was there. I am by no means taking sides, I just think it all could've been handled differently all the way around. | |
