First of all, nobody is happier then me that Putnam is going to re-open.
I'm definately NOT complaining - trust me.
But i've been 'told' by several people that the Jan 22 Mod Race is
"Run ANYTHING" - any size tires, sideboards, etc.
I'd like the track to comment on WHAT rules will be in place,
beacuse IF it's "Anything Goes" - how does that benefit the local guy who has a
regular Modified and wants to run Putnam ? I mean I have a pretty fast
Modified, I don't have 14" tires or plexiglas sideboards, and aren't going to
buy 'em for one night.
IF I have been mis-informed, and it's weigh 2400lbs and any 8" tire, I think thats
great. That means ANY Florida Modified would be legal.
I don't care about spoiler height, but if you're going to have a spending contest
for who can attach a Sprintcar-wing to a Modified, you're not helping the racers that
will support your Modified class all year long.
Either way, I'm doing my best to get my car ready for the 22nd, but I would like some
more info on exactly whats going to be allowed. Thanks.
